Bird Photography Weekly #13

Little Blue Heron

For this week's photo, I'm going into the "way-back" of my bird photography. This images is actually from a slide that I took some years back, which I scanned (which is what gave it the really vibrant colors) and which I've used as my desktop "wallpaper" through my last three computers.

Isn't it funny how we stick with a wallpaper? I did that with a pic of a short-eared owl that I didn't take, but loved.

I couldn't possibly keep the same wallpaper for that long! LOL, I change it every hour, even though I don't see it that often ;)

Excellent slidescan and beautiful bird. Thanks for sharing. I do see how that one is perfect for a long-term wallpaper.

Excellent shot, I use for my wall paper a bird photo and everytime i see it I tell myself that the day I take a pic like that, I`l be a true bird photographer...the same goes for your picture.

I agree - this particular little blue looks a bit surly... which I think is one reason I like it so much. I always think he's going go growl in a whispered undertone "Hey buddy, you lookin' for trouble? Then move along and keep yer trap shut!"

Great photo and nice that you were able to update it digitally like this.

What a mean looking Heron. Good job on being able to retain the vibrant colors from the slide.
