I'm posting this little critter for Wordless Wednesday, because I have no idea what the heck it is. Photo was taken at the visitor center of the Santa Ana NWR in southern Texas.

Happy wordless.
You touched it???
Hmmm. I wonder if it is always that color or adapts to its surroundings. It sure looks like it is trying to blend in with the background.
I've got an ID! (just can't stand not knowing what I've taken a photo of)
Thanks to the great web-site:

I got a response to an ID request in about 45 minutes!
According to the gentleman who answered my query: "Longhorn beetle, positive Oncideres pustulata. The black bumps are the smoking gun for this species"
Now that I know what it is, I was able to find out all kinds of info about it.
Anni - yeah it was creepy - which is one reason why I took it's pic
Beth - I don't recall touching it, but it certainly would be typical of me to pick it up, examine it, let it bite me, etc. I'm kinda dumb that way sometimes ;)
Debbie - seems like it looks that way all the time!
