Just a quick interruption in the posts about our trip for a BPW post, but not straying too far. This is one of the photos I managed to get of the White-necked Jacobin - a stunning hummingbird that regularly visited the feeders at the veranda at Asa Wright Nature Center.

What a gorgeous bird! Thanks for sharing!
That is one very shiny little bird. It almost looks wet...of course considering the location, maybe it is.
Jewels of the sky they are! What a truly gorgeous hummer! Wow, I am blown away at the brilliance of those colors in the sunlight. Excellent capture Chris! And thanks for sharing your trip, I am going to go read part 3.
I love hummingbirds and this one is one of the most beautiful! Thanks, Chris, for sharing!
wow, such a colorful bird.
What a beautiful hummer and great photos!
I think I have practically the exact same photo from Costa Rica. I'm loving the reports and pics.
I love the colors that you captured in this hummingbird! WOW
I love all of its jewel like tones. Such a gorgeous bird!
I remember seeing these guys in Costa Rica. I couldn't believe that, as stunning as they are, they weren't more rare.
Really enjoying the reports!
Beautiful hummer. Would love to see all these wintering jewels in the warm zone right now.
What a beautiful bird, Christopher! I'm really enjoying following your exploits in T&T. Sounds like a trip of a lifetime!
Like some of the other commenters, I also saw these in Costa Rica in my case at Rancho Naturalista. Tropical Hummers are just so amazing! Your shot is absolutely gorgeous.
