Bird Photography Weekly #39

Indigo Bunting - Passerine cyanea

A few weeks ago for the Bird Photography Weekly post, I put up photos of some of the Prairie Warblers, that we are lucky enough to have breeding at Horn Pond just around the corner from us. At the same location we also have Field Sparrows and Indigo Buntings. This past week, I was able to get a few photos that I was pretty happy with. As well as one or two that I think expressed how the bird felt about the pics...

A beautiful bird - and I am sure sometimes the birds think we are all a nuisance!

These are still new to me (only seen 'em twice) so it's pretty great seeing this wonderful series of yours. Except that last one... ;)

...such a beautiful bird, and your photos are so nice. That last one...(shaking head)...I'm sure birds have felt that way about me too! :-D

Great shots and he is so superbly blue and rather cheesed off with you.

Excellent shots of such a pretty bird. The last photo is classic!

BTW: I have not gotten back to you about the outing in June because I am waiting to see when my mother gets a beach house in Maine for the weekend. If it's not that weekend then I will be joining you all.

One of my favorite birds! Great shots capturing the vivid blue colors.

And yes, Chris, I've had gotten the same response from many birds that I tried to photograph. :-)

Awesome shots, Christopher! Well, mostly awesome, anyway... ;-) (I always thought I was the only one that came home with "bird butt" shots filling half my memory card.)

Awesome Indigo Bunting captures Chris! You are so lucky to have our "tropical" birds so close to you.

Who needs to go to Trinidad & Tobago when you have beautifully colored birds in your own backyard?

And yes, I too have many bird butt shots. Maybe we should have a bird butt photography contest?

Hehehe, love the bum shot.

I wish more birds were so easy to ID.
Lovely series, Chris.
